Medical Weight Loss — GLP-1 Therapy & Metabolic Wellness

Struggling with weight despite diet and exercise? Chronic weight challenges are often rooted in biology — not willpower. As a psychiatric NP, Kristin offers a truly integrated approach: GLP-1 receptor agonist therapy (including semaglutide and tirzepatide) combined with psychiatric support to address the emotional, behavioral, and neurological factors that drive weight gain — including depression, anxiety, ADHD, binge eating, and hormonal imbalance.

Unlike a standard weight loss clinic, we treat the whole picture — managing cravings, mood, metabolism, and motivation together so results last.

Semaglutide (Ozempic / Wegovy) Clinical studies show average 10–15% body weight reduction² — individual results vary based on diet, activity, and adherence
Tirzepatide (Mounjaro / Zepbound) Dual GIP/GLP-1 agonist; clinical trials reported average reductions of 15–22% body weight³ — individual results vary
Psychiatric Integration Address binge eating, emotional eating, depression & ADHD simultaneously

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Have you been told your anxiety, depression, mood swings, brain fog, or exhaustion are "just stress" — when something deeper never quite got addressed? Your hormones and your mental health are not separate conversations. They never were. Estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and thyroid hormones directly shape how your brain produces serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine — the very chemicals that regulate your mood, focus, sleep, and resilience. When those hormones shift, your mental health shifts with them. And too often, people spend years cycling through antidepressants when half the story was never told.

Here, we look at all of it together. If you're navigating perimenopause or menopause and suddenly don't feel like yourself — the irritability, the sleeplessness, the sadness that came out of nowhere — that's not weakness. That's biology, and we can help. If you're a man dealing with low testosterone and wondering why you feel flat, unmotivated, or anxious in ways you never did before — you're not imagining it. We see you too. Bioidentical and conventional HRT, integrated with your full psychiatric picture. Because treating half of you was never going to be enough.

We follow up, we adjust, and we stay in your corner. That's not just good medicine. That's family.

Yes — we provide psychiatric care for adolescents ages 13 through 17 where clinically appropriate. Services available for adolescents include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and individual therapy for anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma (PTSD), eating disorders, and mood disorders including bipolar disorder. Parental or legal guardian consent is required for all minor patients, and we actively involve families in the treatment process. We believe healing works best when the whole family is part of the journey.

Please note that not all services are available for adolescents. Spravato (esketamine), GLP-1 weight loss therapy, and hormone replacement therapy are not currently offered for patients under 18. Substance use disorder treatment for adolescents is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Contact us to discuss your teen's specific needs and we will determine together whether our practice is the right fit.
Spravato (esketamine) is an FDA-approved nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression, administered in a certified healthcare setting. Unlike IV ketamine infusions — which are considered off-label and rarely covered by insurance — Spravato is FDA-approved and covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and most major commercial insurance plans when prior authorization is obtained. Each session involves self-administering the nasal spray in our office followed by a required 2-hour observation period.
Insurance coverage varies by plan. The medical evaluation and monitoring visits are typically billable to insurance. The cost of GLP-1 medications (semaglutide, tirzepatide) through a brand-name pharmacy may be covered depending on your plan and diagnosis; coverage is generally stronger for patients with obesity-related diagnoses. We will verify your benefits before your first appointment. Self-pay pricing is also available, and we can discuss all options with you during your consultation.

Important note on compounded GLP-1 medications: Compounded versions of semaglutide and tirzepatide are not FDA-approved. The FDA declared the shortages of both semaglutide (February 2025) and tirzepatide (October 2024) resolved, ending the primary legal basis under which large-scale compounding of these medications was permitted. The regulatory landscape for compounded GLP-1s continues to evolve — some patient-specific compounding by state-licensed (503A) pharmacies may remain available under individual prescriber authority, while large-scale compounding facilities (503B) face active FDA enforcement. As of 2025, the FDA has received hundreds of adverse event reports linked to compounded GLP-1 products, and counterfeits have been documented widely in online channels.

We will discuss FDA-approved brand-name options as our primary recommendation and will advise you on the current regulatory status of any alternative options at the time of your appointment. We do not prescribe or facilitate compounded GLP-1 medications through unverified or unlicensed channels. The availability and legality of compounding options is subject to change based on FDA enforcement actions and ongoing litigation — please ask us for the most current guidance at your consultation.

Hormone therapy management visits are generally insurance-billable.
Yes — and this is one of the most unique aspects of our practice. As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with full practice authority, we can provide both psychotherapy and medication management in the same practice. Many patients prefer this integrated model because their prescriber understands their therapy and vice versa, eliminating the coordination gaps common when using two separate providers.
We are licensed in Nevada, Washington, Oregon, New York, DC, Georgia, Arizona, California, Kansas, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Connecticut, Vermont, and Tennessee — 14 states total. Telehealth is available in all states for psychotherapy, medication management, weight loss medicine, and hormone therapy. You must be physically located in one of our licensed states at the time of the appointment. Telehealth sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform and are reimbursed at the same rate as in-person visits by most insurers.
Gambling disorder (DSM-5) is a behavioral addiction characterized by persistent, problematic gambling that disrupts daily life, relationships, and finances. As a certified gambling counselor and PMHNP-BC, Kristin provides integrated treatment combining psychiatric evaluation, CBT-based counseling, and medication management for co-occurring conditions like anxiety, depression, and ADHD that often drive problem gambling behavior.
Start by booking a free 15-minute consultation using the form below or calling our office. We'll discuss your concerns, verify your insurance, and schedule a comprehensive intake evaluation. Bring a list of current medications and any previous psychiatric records if you have them. First-time patients are always welcome — we pride ourselves on being a judgment-free, family-centered practice.
Yes. Federal telehealth flexibilities for medication-assisted treatment (MAT) allow buprenorphine (Suboxone) to be prescribed via telehealth without an in-person visit requirement. This means patients in any of our 14 licensed states can start opioid use disorder treatment from home, confidentially. After an initial telehealth evaluation with Kristin, PMHNP-BC, a prescription can be sent to your pharmacy. Follow-up appointments are also conducted via telehealth, making it easier to maintain treatment without travel barriers.
Yes — eating disorders are rarely isolated. They most commonly co-occur with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and trauma. Family1st provides psychiatric medication management for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder (BED), and ARFID, integrated with psychotherapy and behavioral support. For patients pursuing weight management alongside eating disorder recovery, we take particular care to ensure GLP-1 therapy is applied thoughtfully and clinically appropriately, always prioritizing your mental health and eating disorder recovery above all else.
