Medicare Part B covers telehealth psychiatric services with no geographic restriction, at the same rates as in-person care. Medicare Advantage PPO members can be seen out of network.

Vermont is small, rural, and mountainous, and a scheduled appointment in Burlington becomes an unreliable plan for someone in the Northeast Kingdom once winter driving starts. Continuity is the first thing to break, and psychiatric medication is exactly the kind of treatment that does not tolerate gaps.
Telehealth keeps medication management consistent through the months when consistency is hardest. That matters especially for seasonal depression, where the worst stretch and the worst driving arrive together.
